Amorphis in finnish means no determinate shape or form,and amorphis clearly live up to it."My Kantele EP" Picks up where "Elegy" left off finding amorphis moving farther away from the grind/death metal that lifted them into the metal world to begin with.Amorphis are one of those bands that find a melody and stick with it for all it's worth,for some bands this can be disaster,but amorphis is not just another band by any means,Amorphis's music is some of the catchiest tunes I've ever heard.

"My Kantele EP" starts out with "My Kantele- acoustic " by far the best song off this EP and "Elegy" for that matter..It's very noticeable where amorphis were headed after this Ep and "Elegy" the death growls are becoming less of an emphasis,in fact the only song off this album with the death vox is "And I hear you call".As for the rest,"The brother-Slayer" is the catchiest on here,"The Brother -Slayer Pt.2 is a spacey 4 min instrumental,finally "levitation" a solid song following in the vein of "Elegy" .

All in all"My Kantele", a 5 song EP, is a nice follow up to amorphis's classic "Elegy".If you liked where they were going with "Elegy" you will like "My Kantele"
