Atheist - Unquestionable Presence

One of the greatest technical achievments in metal, and an album light years ahead of it's time. Brilliant technical riffing, combining the zany chord progressions and syncopated rhythms of jazz with the aggression of early 90's Florida death metal, is what makes this album, though mastermind Kelly Schaefer drops in plenty of groove to keep heads and compositions moving. Scott Burns turned the knobs, so you know the production is great. Every song is a highlight, but chaotic opener "Mother Man" and atmospheric tech masterpiece "And the Psychic Saw" are the true standouts.
