This was the third instalment by Blind Guardian, an album which smashed charts in Germany, was hyped so much in Europe, and an album which made them major league contenders in Eastern Asia alongside Helloween. This could be described as the definite Blind Guardian album, a band with a style of their own, trademark vocal harmonies, recognisable guitar parts, and a firm grasp on the fantasy theme that has made them famous for. People first introduced to Blind Guardian, this would be the perfect album, combining beautiful songwriting and fantastic melodies that could be appreciated by both speed metal and power metal fans. The second song on this album 'Welcome To Dying' has become a classic among fans and is often played at concerts. The great chorus and guitar parts show a band at the pinnacle of their career. 'Lord Of The Rings' is the only ballad on the album, which is a fantastic acoustic orientated song. And the chilling 'Tommyknockers' shows a band dealing with darker themes with a devastating drum sound. It is not surprising the phenomenal success of the band, considering the strength of this album, it is proof of the great things to come, arguably the best power metal group ever!
