Control Denied - The Fragile Art Of Existence

Power is given, but control is taken. This has no relevancy to this review but it sounds cool.Picking up where Death's The Sound of Perseverance left off,Chuck and the boys craft some fine progressive/power metal.Tim Aymar has a soulful voice and tears it up on Control Denied's debut.Chuck Shuldiner expressed a desire to do power metal in an issue of Guitar magazine.Originally he was going to use Warrell Dane of Nevermore but that didnt work out and he brought in Tim Aymar of Psycho Scream. The opening track Consumed, doesn't really reach out and grab you,but the next track,"Breaking The Broken,"really takes you there. All in all this a pretty fine piece of work.If you love power metal and progressive metal you better get off your butt and buy this.Expect Death withouth Chuck on vocals.Hey that ain't too bad.
