Dismember - Hate Campaign

This album is pretty generic, and alot of the songs sound the same, but the album definitely has some high points. The final song, called Hate Campaign, is easily the best song on the album and probably is worth two points all on its own. It has very catchy riffs and keeps the listener interested for the whole five or so minutes that it lasts, as by far the longest song on the album. I see the rest of the album as generic because the riffs just don't seem creative. They sound like the same old Swedish melodies that can be heard in many other Gothenburg bands. The drumming is very good, with the double bass sounding spot on, but the drummer doesn't seem to vary his pace enough for my liking. The guitar solos aren't particularly creative either, and don't do alot for the overall songs. The songs are a little bit too simple. The vocals are just typical death roaring style. Overall, this album doesn't really come close to the band's earlier material. I'm glad I bought it second hand, and because of that I think it's a worthy addition to my collection.
