Ahh yeah, bring it on. This is one you should all be familiar with. If you're not, then turn ya upside down and spank ya like a monkey! A true classic of pure and absolute Heavy Metal, Dio's 1983 masterwork Holy Diver pumps your tired old heart full of molten steel. The simplistic-yet-masterful riffs of songs such as the almost thrashy "Stand Up and Shout", "Don't Talk to Strangers", "Rainbow in the Dark", and the incomparable title track (one of the most METAL songs ever written) inspired as much late 80's copycatting as any early classic by Ozzy, Maiden, or Priest. Maybe even more. Not to mention The Voice. People talk a good bit about certain vocalists having "golden pipes", but few are as worthy of the description as Ronnie James Dio. But if I have to tell you this, then you have a very urgent trip to the record store ahead of you. If you've ever claimed to like classic heavy metal, you sort of have to own this album by default. And hear what Vivian Campbell's guitar work sounded like in a GOOD band! Mwahahahaha. Buy it!
