Deicide - Serpents Of The Light

Could a band make their songs sound any more similar? I mean the title track to start the album is excellent, and it's backed up by two or three other quite brutal and enjoyable songs, but from then on it's as if all the other songs are just variations of the first few. Deicide really needs to discover something called "creativity" to go along with their blast beats and tremolo picking. The first song, Serpents of the Light is very haunting and scary, with the swirling vocal mix at the beginning making it sound as if he's already in hell. The song has a very catchy riff. For the rest of the album I think this band needs to discover a way of keeping the listener interested for the whole album. The irony is that it only lasts about 31 minutes anyway! To sum this up, long gone is 1992, which saw the release of their album, Legion, which has intensity and definition all the way through.
