Exhumed - Gore Metal

Greetings!

Hey again! ive come once more this evening to review probably my favorite CD right now even though its been out for a LONG time! I am here to talk about Exhume's first release "Gore Metal" This is a tremendous Disc! (Not to mention the artwork is fuckin brutal and morbid as hell!) Ross sewage and Matt Harvey do the vocals on this CD and they fuckin kill! The grind vocals sound like a meatier carcass and the death vocals are the freakin lowest and deapest ive heard in my life! Its fuckin crazy. These men are EXTREMELY creative with their theme. In track 2 of this CD there is even what sounds to be a blender grinding up human flesh bones and blood... its beautiful! This release also Tears my shit up when it comes to music..... i just cant explain it.... get a hold of it!!! i garauntee you'll fall in lovewith it!

Bloody excellent noisy grinding death metal. The drumming on this is extremely loud and brutal, and this is one of those albums where the bass lifts the guitar to a sound where the riffs really crush you. Two of the band members went on to join Impaled and release a killer album this year called The Dead Shall Dead Remain, so in comparison Gore Metal is more simplistic, in the dynamics of the guitaring and in the songwriting, yet much more brutal and ferocious. It would fit under the category of grindcore to a greater degree than Impaled. I can justify this by the almost "punky" atmosphere of carefree fun, like in Open the Abscess where you hear what sounds like a chainsaw or a blender grinding human bones blending into the music. Different people interpret these things in different ways though. ;) I love the sick dual vocals on this. Alot of the riffing on the album is quite creative, but most of it seems to be ultra brutal power chords. It even has a bonus Sodom cover at the end which is done bloody well. Overall, this album is killer and you need to get it.
