After hearing what was called the "in flames rip off album", the bands debut cd, Two feet stand, i thought the band was very good at what they did, even though it sounded alot like the flames. The bands sophmore cd, Soulburner, changed direction a little, adding clean vocals and a more melodic song structure throught. Soulburner didn't have the impact on me that the debut had due to the fact of the overabundance of clean vocals. The bands latest, Sindustries, goes back to the debut a little and mixes it with their last effort. the use of clean vocals is there, but its done by the same singer that does the death vocals also, unlike soulburner(they used Erik hawk on soulburner) Again, flawless production thanks to Tagtgren and the abyss. Most of the songs are heavier than anything off soulburner, but the style is a little more uniquie than the in flames sweden sound they used to have. If you liked the band before, you will still like their direction. if you have never heard the band and like melodic death metal, then go out and get this.

The new Gardenian cd rules!!!!! Their 2nd and 3rd cds are brought out by their current label Nuclear Blast while their 1st cd was on a less-known label called Listenable Records. Gardenian did an amazing job on their new cd and The band has matured since their 2nd cd "Soulburner". On "Soulburner", the band still had the talents of Eric Hawk (Artch) for the clean vocals, now this time, Jim himself felt confident enough to sing these alone It's clean vox like Emperor Frontman Ihsahn, Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt, and Ex-Borknagar singer/Bassist now current Dimmu Borgir Bassist Simen Hestaes.. Jim Kjell's vox has matured and more range then before. He can do his death vox from his style to In the Gates vox to Carcass vox to back to his own. The guitars sound amazing and so does the drumming and Bass. The band's sound has matured from their last cd with the help by one of the coolest producers next to Jim Morris: Peter Tagtgren. He did amazing job at producing the cd and he also makes appearance on the cd at Keyboards. The cd is one of the best of 2000.
