Halford - Resurrection

Resurrection marks Rob Halford's triumphant return to the world of heavy metal. While Rob certainly isn't breaking incredibly new ground here (who really is these days?), he has definitely put together an album of enjoyable songs, many of which seem to continue the sound Judas Priest had with the Painkiller album. The first 7 songs of the album are the best in my opinion, with the latter half of the album not living up to the standard set by the first. However, this doesn't mean the second half of the album is not worth listening to.It just means that songs like "Drive" or "Twist" don't quite compare to "Made In Hell" or "Silent Screams"."The One You Love To Hate", a song which finds Bruce Dickinson and Rob singing together, is a good song, but I don't think it really utilizes the potential of either singer.I think they could have done more with such a collection of talent, especially when you throw Roy Z into the mix.The highlights of the album are "Made In Hell", "Silent Screams", and "Resurrection".Resurrection is a great comeback album, and I'm sure it's only a taste of what's to come in the future from the Metal God.

This cd should have been called Erection because that is what you will get when you hear the Metal God himself. All bow before the mighty Halford. His voice was forged straight from pure Metal and Steel and stoked by the fires of Hell! This disc screams Metal Glory from track 1. Resurrection starts out with Rob Screming and goes into some good musicianship to boot. Made in Hell is an awesome song that tells Robs life story and how the Music That is Heavy Metal came to be. Locked And Loaded is a pretty good tune. Night Fall reminds me of some classic Priest. Silent Screams is next and is a great song. Check this out The One you love to Hate is a duet with Mr. Bruce the Maiden Man! Wow! How would you ladies like that double team. I mean if one wasn't gay. He just wants to be loved is that so WRONG? on to Cyberworld a song about the internet what a concept. Slow Down, Twist, Temptation, Drive and Savior are all solid songs.

This reminds me of Screaming for Vengeance/ Defenders of the Faith era Judas Priest. What does this man guzzle to make his 50+ year old voice sound so good? OK maybe I don't want to know. Buy this cd right this second. Don't steal it from Napster or have a freind burn it for you go to Freddys and buy it. Fork out the 15 bucks it is worth every cent.
