Iron Maiden released a 2 disc greatest hits package that has a 3rd disc that is a pc game. This effort is called Ed Hunter. Well let me state first off that I don't think Metal bands should release Best Of albums. It is just a ploy to get us to buy songs that we already have. But they suckered me in with the game. The songs on here are pretty good. Its mostly Dickinson stuff with a couple of Di'anno tunes and that untalented Blaze Bayley. All the Dickinson tracks rock: the Trooper, Number of the Beast, Fear of the Dark, Be Quick or be dead, 2 minutes to midnight, Aces High, the Evil that Men Do, Wasted Years, Powerslave, Hollowed be Thy Name, Run to the Hills, , Stranger in a Strange Land, Tailgunner and Wrathchild '99 The Di'anno songs are Iron Maiden, Phantom of the Opera, Wrathchild and Killers. What a rip off they should have included Remember Tomorrow. I mean that is the best Di'anno song by far in my opinion. They should have cut the Blaze Bayley songs Futureal and Man on the edge. The other Bayley song was The Clansmen which is a good song but his voice doesn't really fit it. It was better when Dickinson sang it on the Maiden tour. The music part of the disc I will have to give a 6/10 because it should have had more Di'anno and less, or none, Blaze Bayley. These songs were supposed to have been voted on by the fans on the Maiden website so I guess I can't complain. On to the video game portion of the set. The game is sort of a arcade shoot 'em up similar to House of the Dead. You are a private eye searching for Eddie and you have to shoot a bunch of loonies and such along the way. The game is rather cheesy but it has a killing time factor. Maybe it will get younger people into Iron Maiden. It plays various Maiden songs as you play. I give the game a 5/10.
