Incantation - Upon The Throne Of Apocalypse

This is the demo version of the album, Mortal Throne of Nazarene, and it really does sound like a demo version; raw production, with riffs thrown together for the concept, and not necessarily to make songs with continuity. I would assume that the actual album has better production and more continuity. Having said this, the raw brutality is what makes this cd quite good. Alot of it is very slow, but the riffs still have their earth shattering feeling of locomotion. The vocals are incredibly brutal, and resemble Chief Spires from Nile, although in this recording it is impossible to see how the vocalist is actually enunciating words. It's just grunts which all sound the same as each other. It's a fun cd if you just want some slow brutality to play really loud, but overall it's not much musically. I'd be interested to hear the album version and if the mix and production are much better in the studio.
