Manowar - Into Glory Ride

I consider Into Glory Ride to be the magnum opus of these self-proclaimed Kings of Metal (not that I'm disputing the title). The stupid intro to opener Warlord is seriously the only poo poo moment of the album. People give Manowar a lot of crap, but that intro really IS cheesy. After that, the Harley's rev up and take you off to the Hallowed Lands of Steel. The first truly epic song, "Secret of Steel", makes me want to don a Conan the Barbarian costume and go rampaging into a local salon to give the heebie-jeebies to all those old women with huge bleached afros like no other song I've ever heard. Up to that point, "Gloves of Metal" said the word "metal" in it more times than any other song in existence. "The sound of METAL, so loud it cracks the beams!!!" I think that says it all, folks. "Gates of Valhalla" contains one of the most soulful, emotional vocal performances ever put through a mixing board. And the heart-wrenching imagery of a fallen metal brother in "March for Revenge" nearly brought a tear to this old metalhead's eye, if only I hadn't lost my tear ducts back in Vietnam. Epic, bombastic, triumphant, and filled with bravado, Into Glory Ride will make you feel like you just got done watching a metal version of Tony Robbins.
