This is the most intense slab of metal to hit the streets since Slayer's "Reign in Blood". A mandatory for any metal fan. If this is the only album you buy this decade, you won't be sorry! This is the only album I know of that can go from killer groove to sonic meltdown and back before the listener can re-attach the missing limbs due to uncontrolable moshing frenzy! A must for anybody into thrash/death/black/power/etc. metal. I totally recommend this for all. From the opening track Vision Conquest to the closing track Suffer The Children, the listener is enveloped by a wave of grindcore mayhem. I always considered this album to be the perfect evolution of thrash. Blasting perfection by Mick Harris, coupled with the massive riffs of Mitch Harris (Righteous Pigs) and Jesse Pintado (Terrorizer), with the subdistorted bass by Shane Embury, completed with the guttural stylings of "Barney" Greenway. This album was a new sound by an already infamous band. Scott Burns produced. I've heard numerous opinions that this album sounds "muddy", but I think that a more appropriate term would be "dense". If this album is played at proper metal volume, it is nothing short of a runaway train. Mick's drumming is relentless and sounds excellent. Barney is right up front, but with a good dose of "air". I think the production opinions stem from the fact that the guitars may seem a bit subdued at lower volumes, but is grindcore fucking background music? No. Turn this slab up and you will be assaulted. IMO, everything about this album is exactly as it was meant to be. Awesome. Quite possibly, the best Napalm Death album. This album is 10 songs that each stand on their own. (11 if you get the CD with the bonus track) This is my favorite metal album by my favorite band. Slayer used to be my favorite until Napalm Death battered my senses. -dr destructo More praise: "This is easily one of the top two or three metal albums of all time. This is the Reign In Blood of the Death Metal/Grind Core genre. Amazing lyrics, written with sheer honesty and brutality. As far as the music and songwriting goes, its furious and relentless. Pintado, Harris and Embury are songwriting gods. They combine speed, grind and crunch like no other. Support the mighty Napalm and buy this and then go see them live. If you get a chance to hang with them, I assure you, you won't be disappointed. The eternal Gods of Grind!!" -a metalhead from Minnesota "THIS IS BAR NONE ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS IN GRINDCORE/DEATHCORE." -a guy from Newport Beach
