When I first heard this album, I was expecting something with a more tradionnal black-metal sound. Why ? Maybe just because I find the name of the band to be a little bit cliche. Do I need to say that listening to that when you expect some typical Norsecore is some kind of a surprise ? I was first pleased with the trash sound I heard when I put the CD on my stereo. Hell, it reminded me when I was mostly listening to German bands like Sodom, Destruction and Kreator... You have here a black-metal album that takes most of it's influences (if not all) in the old-school trash/speed repertoire. Fast pounding bass coupled with mid-paced simple drum patterns marks the beat over which quite melodic and catchy guitar riffs are played. Short screeching guitar solos occasionally burst out to remind you the trashy roots of most songs. Even if the guitar melodies sometimes turn to cold repetitive black-metal riffs, it's clearly the vocals that best link the hole album with that kind of music. Vocals are insane high pitched roars, and I must admit it fit well with the music. The rythm of the words remind me Schmier of Destruction on amphetamines. This album will mostly appeal to all trash/speed fans that later turned to black and death metal, but anybody who like raw and insane, yet melodic stuff should like this. Some riffs are excellent and create a wicked atmosphere... But it's in no way a groundbreaking album, and it doesn't redefine the trash genre at all. If you're too young to remember the first half of the 80s and already like that album, I have that advice for you : do anything you can to get Pleasure to Kill (Kreator) or Agent Orange (Sodom). It will change you're life forever...
