Paul Dianno - Nomad

First off let me state this: I loved Paul Dianno with Iron Maiden. The Maiden Years were great even though there were only 2 albums and a Live EP. Paul Dianno fit perfectly with those Iron Maiden classics. Having said that this solo effort falls way short of mediocracy. The production is horrible and the singing is downright awful. It has a real sloppy quaility to it.

The Intro sounds kind of spooky almost like a King Diamond Intro and it promises good things to follow. Sorry folks the next song Mad Man In the Attic is a bad song and to me the drumming sounded off. It was sloppy. War Machine is not much better. I had to laugh at Brothers of the Tomb, the singing sounded as I must have sounded in the shower at age 14 trying to sing a Judas Preist song while going through puberty. Yea it was that bad. In fact the only halfway decent trcks on this festering pile of guano are The Living Dead and Nomad. All others made me want to poke out my eardrums with my wifes sewing needles and jump out the window screaming, "Make it stop!" (For a reference see Clockwork Orange when your Humble Narrator tries to snuff it while being tortured with music.)

On the Dianno web site @ www.pauldianno.com it states that Nomad is the best Metal album of 2000. Who voted for this shit? I think Dianno should move on and let go of his Iron Maiden Fame. Just quit man while we still have some sort of respect for you. Dianno is a decent man and he is doing great things for the poor in Brazil and he should keep up that good work. He should also find a different way to fund his work besides releasing this crap. Sorry Paul I really wanted to like it but it just made me want to vomit.
